Hoopla
What is Hoopla?
Hoopla is a digital media service that enables you to borrow a great selection of ebooks, audiobooks, movies, television shows, and music albums via your web browser, smartphone, smart TV, or tablet (iOS, Android, or Kindle).
Who can use Hoopla?
Library card holders with a valid library card in good standing.
To begin, register for an account with Hoopla using a valid email address. Once you have registered, you will provide your library card number and library pin number. The system will validate that you are in good standing with the library, so that you may begin to browse, borrow, and enjoy the content.
Types of Hoopla Borrows
- Instant – These items are available instantly. You are allowed 4 borrows per month. Daily access to the Instant titles is limited by budget. Instant titles will be denoted with a lightning bolt.
- Flex – Unlike Instant titles, Flex titles are copies that operate like traditional library loans – one user at a time. If not available, a hold can place you next in line. These borrows do not count against your monthly Instant Borrow limit but you are limited to 4 Flex borrows at any one time. Flex titles will be denoted by circular arrows.
- BingePass – Gives you unlimited access to a curated collection of items with a single borrow. Content is created by Hoopla. Current passes include The Great Courses, Curiosity Stream, Children’s Hellosaurus and magazines.
- Bonus Borrows– Checkout perk offered by Hoopla the last week of each month. These checkouts do not count against your monthly allotment of checkouts nor the library’s budget.
Lending Periods
- Audiobooks, eBooks & Comics – 21 days
- Movies & TV Shows – 72 hours – Each episode counts as one title.
- Music – 7 days
- BingePass – 7 days
